Through his practice incorporating composition, improvisation, online-media, research & teaching Dan Goren explores capacities of music to interpret, translate and express experience and ideas from the everyday and the metaphysical.

Cohesion Festival 2011 Oxford

JANEK & LOONEY with Tony Bevan, Dan Goren and other OI members Port Mahon, Oxford.

Internationally renowned improvisers Klaus Janek on doublebass and electronics; Scott R. Looney on electronics and prepared piano will be joined by UK saxophonist Tony Bevan and OI locals whilst on the UK leg of their European Tour. These musicians and their different experiences together and separately create a wealth of sonic textural landscapes in their interactions, with an emphasis on logic and contrasting concepts guiding the overall shape of the work.

An evening of vocal improvisation and song Warnford Chapel, Oxford.

An evening of voice, improvisation, song, works and text-pieces led by vocalist Anne L Ryan with special guests including Kath Lucas (voice), Laura Mortimer (voice), Pete McPhail (reeds), Julian Faultless (horn) and Dan Goren (trumpet). Some works and pieces to be devised and will feature members of the Oxford Improvisers Co-op.
